Dressmaking - Mathilde Blouse with Tilly Walnes

Level - Intermediate

Sessions: 2

Class Size: 6 Max

Cost: £120.00 (Includes lunch and the Mathilde Blouse pattern)

Learn to make this cute, versatile button-back blouse, which can be dressed up with a pencil skirt or dressed down with skinny jeans.
The pattern designer will guide you through each step of construction, including creating beautiful tucks or gathers, setting in puffed sleeves, and finishing it all off with elegant French seams. This is an intermediate level class – you should have already made at least one garment, be comfortable with basic sewing construction techniques, and be ready to take your sewing to the next level.
This is a digital print-at-home pattern - you will receive the pattern by email and will be asked to print and assemble it before the class. Please bring along 2.5m x 115cm fabric (or 2m x 150cm) and 7 x 15mm buttons. Choose a lightweight, drapey fabric, such as cotton lawn, voile, lightweight chambray, silk or polyester crêpe de chine, habotai or charmeuse. Please avoid anything too slippery!
The pattern is relatively easy to fit, and the bust size goes up to 40”. If you need a larger bust size, please get in touch to check before booking.
There may be some homework to do between classes.

About your teacher.....

Tilly Walnes writes the popular sewing blog www.tillyandthebuttons.com, offering practical tips and inspiration in a positive environment to encourage more people to have fun creating their own handmade wardrobe. Tilly has always been creative, but only developed a love affair with sewing relatively recently. Since then she has trained in professional sewing and pattern drafting, and the Mathilde Blouse is her first pattern design released for sale. She has a background in learning and the arts, her day job being to design training courses for independent cinemas and film festivals in the UK and across Europe. Tilly believes that sewing is for everyone, that you can make it as easy or as difficult as you like, and that there’s always more to learn and enjoy!
