Patchwork for Beginners - Techniques

  • Make a Selection

Maximum Class Size: 6

Level 3: Intermediate For students who are comfortable using a sewing machine and have completed a few simple projects, such as tote bags, cushions, or pencil cases.

Learn the foundations of patchwork with this one-day workshop, designed to give you hands-on experience with some of the most versatile and effective quilting techniques. You’ll explore three core styles—Log Cabin, Flying Geese, and Split Bar—and create individual sample blocks to practise each one.

By the end of the session, you’ll choose one of your blocks to finish into a quilted sampler and gain a deeper understanding of construction, quilting, and finishing methods. This class is ideal for anyone looking to build their confidence with patchwork, while picking up useful tips, tools, and techniques to use in future quilting projects.
