Making Children's Clothes
Maximum Class Size: 5 (reduced due to social distancing)
During this workshop you will learn how to make a simple pinafore dress or pair of cute dungarees for your favourite little one! We will be using patterns by Minikrea, a Scandinavian brand that create fun and stylish designs for children.
Level: This class is suitable for those who already have some experience with using a sewing machine and know the basics. This class follows on nicely from our Introduction sessions part 1 & 2 and the Introductory 6 week course.
You will master the following techniques in class:
- Tracing off patterns & adding seam allowances
- Learn about the traits of woven fabrics (grain lines & selvedges)
- Understanding commercial dressmaking patterns & sewing vocabulary
- How to cut fabrics with precision
- Garment construction techniques
- How to make your own button holes
- Fully lining garments and finishing
