Recreate The Pattern For Your Favourite Trousers

  • Make a Selection

Maximum Class Size: 4

Level 4: Intermediate. Best suited to those who are confident following garment construction techniques and have previous sewing experience using commercial patterns.

Own a pair of trousers you wish you’d bought in every colour? In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to replicate them without unpicking a single seam.

With expert support from a professional pattern cutter, you’ll trace off your trousers to create a complete set of pattern pieces. You’ll learn how to add seam allowances, darts, and other shaping—all while keeping your original garment intact. You’ll leave with a paper pattern you can use again and again to recreate your favourite fit.

Please note: This class is focused on pattern making only, not sewing.

Techniques Covered

  • Tracing a trouser pattern without taking the garment apart
  • Marking darts, seams, waistbands and construction details
  • Adding seam allowances and grainlines
  • Creating a usable trouser pattern to sew at home

Materials

Please bring a pair of trousers that you’d like to replicate. The garment should ideally be made from woven fabric and not be lined. Your teacher will also walk through an example during the class to demonstrate the method.

All tools and materials are provided.
