Product details

Maximum Class Size: 6

Level 3 - Improver: Confident with a sewing machine and ready to start making clothes.

You're comfortable using your sewing machine and have completed a few simple projects like bags, cushions, or pyjamas. Now you're ready to move beyond the basics and begin sewing garments. Perfect preparation before our Level 3 garment making workshops.

This focused 3-hour workshop is the perfect first step before you start sewing clothes. You'll learn how to take accurate body measurements, understand pattern envelopes, choose the right size, and select appropriate fabrics, giving you the confidence and knowledge to approach all your future garment projects with ease.

There's more to garment sewing than just stitching the seams. Choosing the right size, understanding fabric behaviour, and interpreting pattern information can make or break your finished piece. If you've ever been unsure which size to cut, how to grade between sizes, or which fabric will actually work best, this workshop is here to help.

Perfect as preparation before our one-day Level 3 garment classes, this session ensures you arrive ready to sew with confidence. You'll leave with your pattern cut out, fabric chosen (and cut if time allows), and the knowledge to make informed decisions for every garment you make.

Booking a class entitles you to 10% off all full price products in the shop (excluding books) from one week before your class starts through to the end of your course.

Cancellation Policy

Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to change the date* but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances. *Limited to one change only.

If you're running late, please contact us as soon as possible by email. Unfortunately, if you arrive more than 30 minutes after the class starts, we may not be able to admit you as this can disrupt the learning experience for other students.

In the event that we need to cancel a class, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or an alternative booking date.

Age Policy for Classes

At Ray Stitch, we'd love to welcome stitchers of all ages, but to ensure the best learning experience for everyone, we're unable to accommodate anyone under 12 in our workshops.

Young people aged 12-16 are very welcome in our classes but must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) throughout the entire session. The accompanying adult must book and pay for their own space in the class and participate alongside the young person. Students aged 17 and over can attend classes independently.

If you're planning to book for a young person, we recommend emailing us first so we can help guide you to the most suitable class for their age and experience level.
