Product details

Maximum Class Size: 5

Level 3: Improver - Open to students who are confident using a sewing machine and have completed several projects. This is not a learn-to-sew class.

Open Sewing is a relaxed, tutor-led session designed to support you with your current project, whether you're starting from scratch or need help finishing off a garment.

This is a supported sewing session where you can work independently on your own projects with tutor guidance available when needed. Bring anything from an untouched pattern to a half-finished project that's hit a bump in the road. You'll have access to professional tools and space without needing to tidy up at the end.

These 3-hour sessions run on weekdays and evenings and can be booked as needed.

Please note: Please reply to the email confirmation with details of what you're planning to work on before your session as this helps the teacher's to prepare.

Booking a class entitles you to 10% off all full price products in the shop (excluding books) from one week before your class starts through to the end of your course.

Materials

You’re welcome to use our studio machines and tools. You’ll need to bring your own fabric, notions, and pattern unless previously arranged. Please bring your chosen project and any materials you plan to use. Our experienced teachers can help with most things, from pattern cutting and fitting to troubleshooting construction steps.

Cancellation Policy

Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to change the date* but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances. *Limited to one change only.

If you're running late, please contact us as soon as possible by email. Unfortunately, if you arrive more than 30 minutes after the class starts, we may not be able to admit you as this can disrupt the learning experience for other students.

In the event that we need to cancel a class, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or an alternative booking date.

Age Policy for Classes

At Ray Stitch, we'd love to welcome stitchers of all ages, but to ensure the best learning experience for everyone, we're unable to accommodate anyone under 12 in our workshops.

Young people aged 12-16 are very welcome in our classes but must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) throughout the entire session. The accompanying adult must book and pay for their own space in the class and participate alongside the young person. Students aged 17 and over can attend classes independently.

If you're planning to book for a young person, we recommend emailing us first so we can help guide you to the most suitable class for their age and experience level.
