The Art of Rug Hooking with Graham Hollick

Maximum Class Size: 7 Students

In this practical introduction Graham will demonstrate the processes involved in making your own hand hooked rugs - from stripping used garments or waste fabrics to the technique of hooking through a hessian backing. Participants will be be able to make their own  piece in class which will teach them all the skills necessary to start making their own hooked rugs. 

Your finished piece will be approximately 40cm x 25cm can be used as a wall hanging or front side of a cushion cover .

Level: Suitable for all levels.

Materials: All tools and materials are included.

About Your Teacher:
Graham is a creative director and is widely recognised as an expert in art direction, creative consultancy, design and trend forecasting. 

Throughout his career he has taught at Art Colleges in the UK and in Europe, as well as mentoring many students through their work experience placements during his time working in Paris. He also founded the ethical home textiles brand Stitch by Stitch, which works with textile artisans in India and Nepal.

Graham graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1988 and around 30 years later he took up the age old art of rug hooking which has since become his obsession. His pieces are created using entirely reused materials.

Due to our small class sizes it is also very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances.

In the event that we are forced to cancel a class, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or swap your booking to another suitable date.
