This one-day workshop is the perfect introduction to the overlocker. Whether you've never touched one or are looking to build confidence and learn best practices, this class will help you get the most from this versatile machine.

Learn how to thread and set up an overlocker, understand key features, and gain the confidence to create a complete stretch garment from start to finish. By the end of the session, you'll have made a T-shirt or sweatshirt and gained the foundational skills to continue sewing with stretch fabrics at home.

Booking a class entitles you to 10% off all full price products in the shop (excluding books) from one week before your class starts through to the end of your course.

You'll need to bring your own fabric and a suitable pattern. Recommended patterns can be viewed here. Our team is always happy to advise on suitable options in-store.

All tools, overlockers, and studio equipment are provided.

Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to change the date* but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances. *Limited to one change only.

If you're running late, please contact us as soon as possible by email. Unfortunately, if you arrive more than 30 minutes after the class starts, we may not be able to admit you as this can disrupt the learning experience for other students.

In the event that we need to cancel a class, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or an alternative booking date.

At Ray Stitch, we'd love to welcome stitchers of all ages, but to ensure the best learning experience for everyone, we're unable to accommodate anyone under 12 in our workshops.

Young people aged 12-16 are very welcome in our classes but must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) throughout the entire session. The accompanying adult must book and pay for their own space in the class and participate alongside the young person. Students aged 17 and over can attend classes independently.
