Small Things for Christmas with Catherine-Marie Longtin

Join inspirational textile artist and quilter Catherine-Marie Longtin for a joyful day of festive creating!

Learn how to sew improvised patchwork blocks using fabric scraps, which you will then transform into small textile objects that are useful around the house and the perfect stocking fillers. Use your created pieces to make fabric baubles, lavender sachets, needle books, pin cushions and pot holders.

What you’ll learn:

• Improvisational patchwork and piecing
• Working with fabric scraps and colour mixing
• Making and finishing small sewn gifts
• Hand quilting and embellishment techniques
• Creating functional textile gifts and home accessories

Materials: All tools and materials are included. Mince pies and festive treats also supplied!

About Your Teacher: Catherine-Marie Longtin is a French Canadian quilt-maker and textile artist living and working in South East London. Her designs channel her lifelong love of textiles, colour and minimalist abstract art. She does commission work for private clients and sells quilts and artworks online, via open studio events and textile fairs.

Booking a class at Ray Stitch entitles you to 10% off everything in-store for one week. Our team is happy to help advise on fabric and supplies for your project.

Cancellation Policy

Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to change the date* but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances. *Limited to one change only.

In the event that we need to cancel a class, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or an alternative booking date.

Age Policy for Classes

Please note we cannot accept any students under the age of 12. Students between the ages 12-16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) who must book their own space. Anyone aged 17+ can attend independently. Please feel free to email us with any queries.
