Product details

In Merchant & Mills' latest book, they present five complete patterns inspired by Workwear.

In genderless sizing from XS-XXXL they illustrate the eternal relevance and versatility of traditional workwear shapes and detailing. These simple everyday garments are clothes not fashion, living outside the fast and careless, trend-led landscape.

They have explored the concept and designs within the book through conversations with makers of varying disciplines, from weaving to wood turning. These makers model the patterns and share a little of their story and their craft. The reader can view their fabric choices and interpretations of the patterns and in turn formulate their own.

The book includes the 5 full-size patterns and variations; Blazer, Chore Jacket, Drawstring Trousers/Shorts, Shirt/Shirt Dress, Mail Bag. Each chapter talks through the cloth used and offers tips and advice on handling and finishing.

This is not a beginner’s book but nor is it advanced. It’s a handbook of staple makes and satisfying techniques, sure to become a well-thumbed companion to any maker’s handmade wardrobe.

On page 70 there's QR code to download the pattern PDFs if customers don't want to cut into those included.
