One Day Workshop: Sew Your Summer Wardrobe with the Bestie Bag

• Working with heavier or trickier fabrics such as dry wax and canvas
• Installing bag hardware including webbing, sliders, and adjusters
• Inserting a zip closure
• Working with grosgrain or lightweight cotton lining
• Bagging out a lining for clean finishes
• Constructing pleated or flat fronts (view dependent)
• Creating sturdy straps with webbing or fabric
• Achieving professional finishing on structured bags

The Bestie Bag is a PDF only pattern. You will receive a printed pattern in the class plus a download link with the instructions included. You'll need to bring your own fabric and hardware. All sewing machines, tools, and equipment are provided.

Fabric recommendations: Choose medium to heavyweight wovens for the exterior such as denim, canvas, gabardine or heavyweight twill. For the optional lining, lightweight wovens such as poplin, lawn, or quilting weight cotton work well.

Hardware: Webbing for straps, sliders/adjusters (optional), and an appropriate zip. Full requirements will be sent after booking.

Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to change the date* but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances. *Limited to one change only.

If you're running late, please contact us as soon as possible by email. Unfortunately, if you arrive more than 30 minutes after the class starts, we may not be able to admit you as this can disrupt the learning experience for other students.

In the event that we need to cancel a class, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or an alternative booking date.

At Ray Stitch, we'd love to welcome stitchers of all ages, but to ensure the best learning experience for everyone, we're unable to accommodate anyone under 12 in our workshops.

Young people aged 12-16 are very welcome in our classes but must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) throughout the entire session. The accompanying adult must book and pay for their own space in the class and participate alongside the young person. Students aged 17 and over can attend classes independently.
