Make A Pair Of Pyjama Bottoms - Men & Womens Fit

During this single session class you will uncover how to use commercial dressmaking patterns and start to understand basic garment construction. In three and a half hours you will make up these classic unisex pyjama bottoms with elasticated waistband and drawstring detail. This pattern is a perfect staple and before long everyone will be wanting a pair!
This class is suitable for sewers at a beginner plus level, and is ideal for those who have completed our Intro to Machine Sewing Part 2 class and would like to start using commercial dressmaking patterns to create your own clothes. You must already know the basics of how to use a sewing machine, this class is the perfect introduction to your dressmaking journey.
In class you will cover the following techniques:
- Understand commercial patterns and their notations
- Fitting & adjustments
- Pattern lay plans & straight of grain
- Marking the fabric
- Making an elasticated waistband
- Tips and techniques on making up
Tools, equipment and refreshments are provided & the pattern is yours to keep but your are required to bring your own fabric.
Fabric Requirements: All Fabric Widths: 2.4m - 2.6m
Fabric Recommendations: Washed linen, Brushed Cotton, Flannel, Gingham, Seersucker, Medium weight cottons, Tana lawn, Poplin, Khadi cotton, Washed silk or Rayon.
